Submission Guidelines

Red Morning Press accepts unsolicited poetry manuscripts year-round. We are equally interested in the work of published and unpublished poets.

RMP will accept electronic submissions ONLY; manuscripts received by regular mail will not be read and will not be returned. Electronic submissions should follow the below guidelines as closely as possible. Please send manuscripts and any questions to submissions@redmorningpress.com.

• Manuscripts should be at least 48 pages long, excluding front matter
• Manuscripts must be your own original work (we do not accept translations at this time) and must not have appeared previously in book form
• Manuscript should be in Word or Adobe Acrobat format and contain no graphics
• Include a title page with your name, address, phone number and E-mail address
• Include an acknowledgments page listing poems in the manuscript that have been published previously as well as where they were published
• No cover letter is required, though you're free to tell us whatever you'd like us to know in your E-mail message
• Only one manuscript at a time, please
• There is no reading fee; if you'd like to support Red Morning, feel free to buy a book!

We used to say we'd get back to you in two months or less, but we quickly began to break that promise. At this time, we're confident saying we can get back to you in about four months. If it's been longer than that, please feel free to drop us an E-mail to ask what's going on.

Unfortunately, the editors cannot comment on the majority of returned manuscripts.
